Privacy policy

Aura is for people aged 18 and over. What you share here is sensitive and we treat it that way.

What we store

• Your email, which you verify with a code. It is not shown to other people.
• The alias you choose and your three onboarding answers, which are private and do not appear on your profile or in groups.
• Your messages in groups and private chats, your contacts, blocks and reports.
• Your SOS requests: who asked, who they reached and when.
• Your Aura profile, only if you turn it on, with what you choose to show.
• If you buy Aura Plus: a Stripe customer and subscription identifier. Your card details are handled by Stripe and we never see them.

What stays on your device

Your personal plan (what helps you, your trusted contact and your message) is saved only in your device’s browser. It is not sent to Aura or anyone else.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
• We do not record SOS calls: audio goes only between the two people.
• Your conversation with the assistant is not published or stored in Aura.

Who we share data with to operate

• Supabase: database.
• Vercel: site hosting.
• Stripe: Aura Plus payments.
• Resend: the sign-in code email and SOS notices to your contacts.
• A language-model provider: receives the messages you write to the assistant to generate the reply.

How long we keep it

While you have your account. When you delete it we erase your data and cancel your subscription.

Your rights

You can access, correct and delete your data. Deleting is immediate from “Delete my account” in the app. For anything else about your data, message us on Instagram or X (@aura_panic).

Important. If you are in danger right now, call your local emergency number (911 in the US and Canada, 112 in the EU and the UK 999) or reach someone close to you. Aura is not an emergency service.
